She Who Mothers

Circle Workshop - like a book club + more

for Mothers of any Age and Stage of Motherhood

Our circle workshops offer a structured and supportive space for mothers. Rooted in a strengths-based approach, these workshops are designed to foster resilience, build authentic peer and mentor relationships, and provide opportunities for self-expression through sharing and creative activity.

Each group gathers in a safe, facilitated setting for two hours. Participants meet in a consistent group led by a trained facilitator. Sessions follow a six-step structure with simple, grounding rituals that create predictability, a sense of safety, and encourage open, respectful communication.

In each session, participants take turns listening and sharing their thoughts, experiences, concerns, and interests. In addition to verbal sharing, the circle includes expressive and reflective activities—such as journaling, movement, poetry, painting, collage, clay work —to deepen connection and support self-discovery.

Themes including universal archetypes will be explored in the workshops and are derived from the book:  Motherhood: Facing and Finding Yourself by Lisa Marchiano

The time between circles is an invitation to listen inward—through reading the designated chapter, journaling, or quiet reflection. While these practices enrich the journey, your presence at circles alone is enough.

Participation requires only a willingness to be part of the group, a commitment to attend regularly, and an agreement to uphold the circle’s core guidelines:

  • Trust that you will know what to say:  No need to rehearse.

  • Listen from the heart:  Let go of stories that make it hard to hear each other.

  • Speak from your heart:  Your truth, your experiences, your perspectives.

  • Say just enough: Without feeling rushed, be concise and considerate of the time of others.

Mothers are free to share at their own pace. Through consistent listening and mutual respect, participants reflect on their own experiences and connect more deeply with others. Rather than offering advice, the circle fosters critical thinking, empathy, and the sharing of personal insights in a space where every voice matters.

By engaging in these honest and creative conversations, participants build confidence and learn to express themselves more fully. Through examining cultural expectations and exploring their own values, needs, and talents, youth gain greater clarity and courage to make choices aligned with who they are and who they’re becoming.
